Background

The club needed a website its officers could keep current. I designed and built it on Astro and Cloudflare Pages, with content stored in Markdown so events can be updated without touching code.

to add: who visits the site and what they need from it (members? new students? event-goers?)

What I did

  • Designed the site and its content model
  • Stored content in Markdown so officers update events without code
  • Built an AI help assistant (Gemini API, Pages Functions, D1) that answers from the site’s own content
  • Designed the handoff: unanswered questions go to officers
  • Improved the assistant by iterating prompts against logged misses

A decision I made

to add: why an assistant that hands off, instead of one that always answers? Tell the call you made.
